1. Introduction

AI學英語 ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered English learning app for all ages — from primary school students to adults. The app is published on Google Play by developer kifee and on the Apple App Store by developer wenjuan feng, and operated under the EasyEnglish HK project (easystudy.hk). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

• Email address (for registration and login)
• OAuth profile data (name, email) if you sign in with Google or Apple

Usage Data:

• Homework images you upload (for AI lesson generation)
• Learning progress and activity scores
• Child profiles you create (nickname, grade level)
• Credit transaction history

Device Information:

• Device type and operating system (for app compatibility)
• Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)

3. How We Use Your Information

• Lesson Generation: Homework images are sent to AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI) to generate interactive learning pages. Images are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 30 days.
• Learning Progress: Activity scores and weak areas are tracked to help parents monitor their child's learning.
• Account Management: Email is used for authentication and credit balance management.
• Referral Program: If you share your referral code, we track successful referrals to award credits.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Homework images: automatically deleted after 30 days
• Generated HTML lessons: automatically deleted after 90 days
• Account data: retained while your account is active
• Data is stored on secured servers with encryption in transit (HTTPS)

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our core functionality:

• AI Providers (Anthropic, Google AI, OpenAI): to analyze homework images and generate lessons. Your images are processed per their respective privacy policies.
• Cloudflare R2: for secure file storage
• Apple / Google Play: for in-app purchase processing
• Stripe: for payment processing (if applicable)

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

6. Children's Privacy

Our app is designed for use by parents on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Child profiles only contain a nickname, grade level, and avatar emoji — no real names or identifying information are required.

7. Data Security

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
• Database-level Row Level Security (RLS) ensures tenant data isolation
• Credit transactions use atomic database locks to prevent fraud

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your learning progress data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time
